ODERICH SA

1879 Adolph Oderich arrives in Brazil

The long history of Oderich begins on June 1, 1879. On this date, more than a century ago, the young German Adolph Oderich, then 22 years old, landed in Porto Alegre from the city of Wittenburg at the invitation of an export company from Hamburg to work as a traveling salesman.

1908 Founding of Carlos H. Oderich & Co.

In that year, Adolph's eldest son went to Germany to study meat preservation. He returned enthusiastic and founded the first company in Brazil, and the third in the world, for this type of canned food. As a pioneer, Oderich achieved exponential growth in the subsequent decades and a production of one million kilograms of pork by-products per year. The product range included sausages, bacon, ham, pork cheese, broths, and soups, thereby opening up new markets at home and abroad.

The first branch

In 1997, the first Oderich branch was established in the city of Pelotas. The tradition of making sweet preserves in the region motivated the group's initiative to establish a company focusing on this segment.

To continue winning the battle against time, the 5th generation is being prepared to take over the company with the same values and entrepreneurial spirit as the previous generations.

It is already known that the company's visual identity has always had "Sol" as its icon.

The shining star finds its own way to become eternal and keeps itself alive through the intense glow it emits.

Oderich has a brand whose light has traveled long distances and secured a firm place among the major companies of Rio Grande do Sul and Brazil.
